Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival announces lineup for PoWow!

OKEECHOBEE — The Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival has announced  the lineup for the first ever Okeechobee PoWoW!

This festival event will aim to make music history by assembling some of the most talented artists in the world for a one-time-only live collaborative concert under the stars at Okeechobee.

The 2016 PoWow! will pair superstar singer and Grammy winner Miguel with Arcade Fire front man Win Butler.

Hall & Oates’ John Oates will serve as bandleader of a group that will include the rhythm section of The Meters – George Porter Jr., Zigaboo Modeliste, perhaps the most dynamic, funky and influential drum and bass combo of all time. Modern sax phenom Kamasi Washington will join Preservation Hall to form a monstrous horn section.

The stacked all star band will also include Soulive / Lettuce’s Eric Krasno on guitar and Neal Evans on keyboards/organ as well as world champion DJ and scratchmaster Chris Karns on turntables.

The PoWow! will focus largely on epic reinterpretations of beloved classic songs woven together with modern music by this incredible live band for a raging dance party.

The goal of the PoWow! is for artists and audience to share a transcendent experience of connection and shared energy as these stars align at Okeechobee for the very first time.
