Home invasion robbery suspects sought by Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office

OKEECHOBEE — A local detective is asking the public’s help in locating two men who are wanted for their alleged connection in an armed home invasion robbery.

Detective Javier Gonzalez, of the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO), said the men are considered armed and dangerous.

The suspects are Albert Lewis Hester III, 22, and Remberto Lebron Brown, 22. The OCSO investigator said he has obtained nationwide warrants charging Hester and Brown with home invasion robbery and two counts each of aggravated assault.

Hester, said the detective, has a thin build and stands 5-foot-10. Brown has a medium build and is 5-foot-11-inches tall.

Detective Gonzalez said the two men broke into the DeBerry Gardens home Thursday, July 23, just before dark and robbed two women at gunpoint. The suspects then made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, as well as some jewelry.

“They shared a small, semi-automatic handgun,” added the detective.

While a description of their clothing was not given, Detective Gonzalez did say neither man wore a mask.

No one was injured and there were no other persons in the home at the time of the alleged robbery.

Although the men have an Okeechobee address, it’s thought they could possibly be in the Clewiston area. They could also be in the Lee County or Hillsborough County areas.

“Or, they could still be here (Okeechobee),” Detective Gonzalez said.

The one thing the investigator knows for sure is that Hester and Brown “are on the lam.”

If anyone has information on this case or the whereabouts of Hester and Brown, they are asked to contact Detective Gonzalez at 863-763-3117, ext. 5106; or, Treasure Coast Crimestopers at TCWatch.org or 1-800-273-8477.
