OKEECHOBEE — A 50-year-old Okeechobee man has been arrested and booked into the Okeechobee County Jail for allegedly molesting two young girls, states a detective’s arrest report.
Ramon Montijo, N.W. Fourth St., was arrested Saturday, Jan. 16, on two felony counts of lewd and lascivious molestation – offender over 18 years of age, victim 12 years of age or under.
Montijo is being held in the county jail on $500,000 bond.
An arrest report by Detective Corporal Ted Van Deman, of the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO), said the incidents occurred last year and involved two young female victims.
The initial complaint was handled by OCSO Deputy Cody Hurst, and Cpl. Van Deman was called in to handle the interviews of the alleged victims.
Cpl. Van Deman’s report detailed the alleged molestations and ended by saying Montijo was arrested “based on the credible statements provided by the victims.”
Montijo’s arraignment has been set for Feb. 4 at 10 a.m.
