OKEECHOBEE — The independently produced Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival is pleased to announce its initial artist lineup that includes headliners Mumford & Sons, Kendrick Lamar and Skrillex, among a total of 80 bands within the hip-hop, indie rock, electronic, folk, modern and classic rock genres.
The festival is planned for March 4, 5 and 6, 2016 in a rural area of Okeechobee County.
Mumford & Sons
The Grammy Award-winning band will play Florida for just the second time in their history. Their last performance here sold out on Sept. 14, 2013 in downtown St. Augustine as part of the “Gentleman of the Road” concert series. Okeechobee will be the only Florida stop on this tour.
Two-Time Grammy Award winner and winner of BET’s “Best Male Hip Hop Artist.” good kid, m.A.A.d city was named Pitchfork’s #1 Album of 2012 and #2 Album of the Decade. His latest album “To Pimp a Butterfly” debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200.
Known for amazing live performances, the eight-time Grammy nominee and two time Grammy winner will be performing one of the only “Skrillex” performances of 2016.
His surprise new collaborative album with Drake, What a Time to Be Alive, debuted at #1 & #2 on Billboard’s Hot 100. His earlier 2015 release DS2 reached #1 on the Top 200, R&B Albums, Top Digital Albums, and Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums.
The Grammy Award-winning artist, singer, songwriter and producer’s recently released Wildheart debuted in the Top 5 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Big Grams (Big Boi + Phantogram)
Big Grams is a unique collaboration between Big Boi (One Half of the multi-platinum recording artist Outkast), and indie electronic artist Phantogram. Okeechobee will be the only Florida play for this iconic supergroup, and sure to be a can’t-miss performance.

Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival is centrally located at Florida’s Sunshine Grove (12517 NE 91st Avenue, Okeechobee, FL 34972) on over 800 acres of pristine grasslands, clear lakes, and exotic tropical woodlands. The site has been carefully prepared to capture its natural beauty and give the festival an intimate feeling.
Signature new venues like Aquachobee provide the perfect place to relax and hangout by the lakeside swimming beach and bar. The Lost Jungle offers and immersive dusk-til-dawn dance music experience, and an assortment of spectacular multi-media art installations will dot the landscape surrounding the wooded VIP camping areas.
Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival will also feature a wide array of locally sourced treats from some of Florida’s most popular food trucks, craft beer makers, and artisanal purveyors. Environmental and other socially conscious campaigns will be presented, as well as yoga, meditation, and holistic workshops.
The multi-genre lineup is designed to appeal to a wide variety of audiences. The perfect Florida weather in March along the timing makes the event an ideal Spring Break destination and an exciting option for music fans everywhere.
“We want to present a more intimate experience in our first year so we are limiting the capacity to about half the size of other major American festivals,” says Soundslinger Founder & Chief Creative Officer Paul Peck. “We have an incredibly special property and the opportunity to do something really special here, and we want to make sure we do it right.”
Passes for Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival went sale Thursday, October 15 at 10am EST. Tier 1 GA 3-Day Passes will be available. When the initial allotment of tickets is sold out, the 3-day GA Passes will be released at the Tier 2 price. At the time of the Second Wave Line-up Announcement, the cost of the 3-day GA Pass will increase. Fans are encouraged to purchase early to get the best possible price, and be insured of getting a pass, as the organizers are anticipating a sold out event. Payment plans are available. 3-Day GA Passes include parking, tent camping and access to all three days of the festival. One campsite is provided for each vehicle, and each campsite can hold up to eight people (although four to six people per site is recommended to optimize comfort).
Fans can make the most out of their weekend with the “Eternal Sunshine” VIP Experience, a variety of Tent and RV Rental options, the ‘Eternal Sunshine’ VIP Boutique Camping Experience, or a Super VIP Luxury Tour Bus. These ticket and lodging packages are customized to give each fan an experience that they will never forget. Detailed information is available on the website.
In order to make it as easy as possible to attend, shuttle services and long-range bus trips from select locations throughout the Southeast will be available. Round trip shuttle service will be offered from New Orleans, Atlanta, Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Columbia, Charleston, Savannah, Jacksonville, Gainesville, Tallahassee, Pensacola, Daytona Beach, Miami, Orlando, and Tampa.
Attendees are encouraged to choose the most environmentally and sustainable method to attend the festival. Daily Shuttles will be available from West Palm Beach and Orlando near each airport. The West Palm Shuttle will connect to the Tri-rail system, which runs as far as Miami, connecting to South Florida’s biggest cities and major airports.
